North River "Beat the Heat" Hike

12:00 PM - 6:00 PM at UREC


This 12.5 mile loop hike is the only one that follows a river in the Todd Lake area of the George Washington National Forest. This hike has it all including several nice viewpoints, as well as a section along the banks of North River. With eight fords of North River, this is an ideal hike for the hot summer days of late summer and early fall. Wear your sport sandals or old sneakers, you are guaranteed to get wet on this one! Register by the Thursday (11 pm) before the trip. Where: Meet in the UREC Atrium. Clothes: Dress in clothes and shoes that can get wet, shoes must have straps (no flip flops). Items to bring: A small backpack, 2 liters of water, a towel and dry clothes for the ride back. Your trip leader will contact you via email with additional details no later than Friday morning.
